Imaginal Ecosystem for other sectors

Transforming business, and other sectors.

Imaginal Transformation Inc. has developed an extensive ecosystem of solutions to support the transformation of other sectors, such as government, industry, banking, agri-business, etc.

Imaginal Ecosystem for becoming an Imaginal Organization

Imaginal Transformation Centers

The Imaginal Transformation Centre (ITC) is comprised of the physical environment, trained facilitators, researchers and analysts working with leaders to transform a community, a region or a country. An ITC focus is on the transformation of various sectors of society.  Here are some of the impacts that an ITC may have on the community it serves.

Inspiring physical environment

The ITC’s physical environment unleashes creativity, collaboration and organizational brilliance. It does so by replicating a living space with plants, natural lighting and organic elements that reflects the natural world. There is a reason why people feel uplifted when walking in a forest.

Solving Complex Problems

The complexity of our world today requires methods of finding solutions that address this complexity. The Imaginal process enables large group collaboration with enough diversity to find solutions that otherwise would not be found.

Creating a Funnel for Innovation

The ITC houses researchers and analysts who gather and create knowledge to fuel the innovation process. An Imaginal Workshop is a collaborative process that creates a funnel of ideas from which innovation projects are conceived.

Organizational Transformation

The ITC supports organizational transformation not only by utilizing Imaginal Thinking, but also generating new behaviours that transform the culture.

Developing Imaginal Leaders

Developing Imaginal Leaders is best done in the context of Imaginal Workshop experiences. The ability to see and create the future is not a theoretical reality; rather, it becomes a living reality by those who have had the experience.

Think Tank

The ITC’s knowledge systems support the research and the preparation of policy briefs to help inform government with policy changes.

Innovation Platform

Central to an organization becoming Imaginal is the ability to see probable, plausible, and possible futures, learn from them and creating their preferred future. Most organizations understand the importance of innovation, but very few understand how innovation works and how to create a sustainable innovation capacity in their organization.

People and Culture Collaboration

The Innovation Platform is a comprehensive system of:

Discovery

Knowledge creation or discovery processes uses expert analysis, customer feedback, emerging new research, and an ecosystem of thought leaders.

Strategic Focus

Establishing a strategic focus that directs the entire innovation process.  The strategic focus is constantly being revisited throughout the process since you never know when you will discover an opportunity that will change your focus.

Opportunities

The mining of broad opportunities will create the context for the ideation or imaginal workshop experiences.  The Imaginal Thinking process creates opportunity zones of 10- 20 years and beyond.

Ideation

Ideation is a collaborative human process guided by the 7 Step Imaginal Process of seeing, learning and creating the future. Ideation leads to innovation proposals and projects, but also generating new behaviours that transform the culture.

The ITC also supports organizational cultural change by designing and creating new system structures that support and generate new behaviours, thus transforming culture.

ITC

Imaginal Transformation Centre (ITC) is a
specialized physical environment that houses a large collaborative workshop space as well as the research center.  The personnel of the ITC are trained to facilitate ideation processes and maintaining the ITC.

Innovation Projects

Innovation projects are the output of the Imaginal Workshop and ideation process. The lifecycle of each innovation project is managed using our digital Innovation Platform. At all times, the Innovation Manager will have a pulse of what is happening in the innovation pipeline.

People
Development

Why is corporate training a big waste of time and money? For almost two decades, we have been telling corporate leaders that their HR training budget represents the lowest ROI of any budget item.  Imaginal's people development system uses our Geenius digital platform with our patented knowledge transfer process of over 90% and more importantly the application of knowledge resulting in performance improvement and behavioural change.

Knowledge Creation

Knowledge Fuels Innovation

Imaginal’s Ecosystem is designed to support the innovation process by the capture, refinement, dissemination and transfer of knowledge.

Knowledge fuels the innovation process, but not all knowledge is the same.  One can research existing knowledge from many different sources, but all you have is the knowledge that has already been created, it is from the past.  The Imaginal Thinking process is not only fuelled by what is already known, but by new knowledge that needs to be created.

New Knowledge Creation

The Imaginal Knowledge Creation model is comprised of four levels, with the first level being signal research. The next three levels are the creation of new knowledge that fuels the entire innovation process.

  • Knowledge fuels innovation

    Researching strong and weak signals

  • Creating New Knowledge

    Trend and impact analysis

    Scenarios and opportunities

    Ideation and innovation projects

  • Capturing learning from all steps in the process

Imaginal knowledge levels

Signal Research
The Imaginal Knowledge Creation model starts with the capture of  signals from the future through RESEARCH.  This research includes, white papers, published research papers, articles from thought leaders, etc. An organization would setup research teams who would focus on domains that are relevant to the organization.  Included in the research will be articles on strong signals or trends that are currently observable and trackable. Weak signals from the fringe are also captured, these would come from various publications that are deemed to be futuristic.
Analysis
Level 2 knowledge is primarily created by analysts, those who are able to perform trend and impact ANALYSIS.  The work of an analyst is to gain a deeper understanding of the signal research and the implications on the future. An Imaginal Organization may purchase high-valued analysts reports from reputable sources, but we recommend having your own team of analysts creating NEW knowledge that is specific to the future needs of your organization.
Synthesis
SYNTHESIS of new knowledge about the future usually takes place in Imaginal Workshops.  Using the level 2 knowledge, workshop participants are able to create scenarios of the future, and by placing themselves into these scenarios are able to learn from the future.  The learning from the future reveals opportunities for innovation.
Innovation
The purpose of levels 1-3 knowledge is to create the fuel that generate ideas for INNOVATION projects.  Innovation projects once approved will generate a vast amount of new learning and knowledge that needs to be captured in such a way that can easily be shared with other innovation project teams.
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.”
–Albert Einstein

Knowledge objects

Capture
Knowledge work is captured using Geenius knowledge spaces and banks.
Analysis tools
Mini applets are available for specific analysis such as S trend analysis or impact analysis.
New knowledge support
The Geenius platform supports the orchestration of the modules within a workshop but also the capture of new knowledge generate by the workshop itself.
